Fine Arts
Art at Outreach is Art Therapy based. Students meet in a group setting with an onsite art therapist/art teacher and explore mental health aspects that are specific to youth. We investigate positive mental health strategies through the use of art and the creations are processed in a supportive group environment. Some art sessions can be in individual sessions with the art therapist as well.
There is also an opportunity to do Art 10, 20, 30 via modules with consultation with an art teacher.
Physical Education
The goal of physical education is to allow students to acquire skills through a variety of activities. They will come to understand, experience and appreciate the health benefits that result from physical activity, interact positively with others and assume responsibility to lead an active way of life.
Phys Ed 10 and 20 are 3 or 5 credit courses with two components: physical activity hours and assignments. Students are required to complete 75-125 activity hours (worth 60% of their total grade) and four assignments (worth 40%). The assignments are designed to fulfill the requirements of the program of studies in conjunction with the physical activities completed by students. Each course is completed primarily online, with a teacher supervisor overseeing the program.

Career Transitions
These are courses designed for students to participate in planning, organizing, and facilitating activities in and out of the school. There is an expectation of attendance, to work in groups, and to meet one on one with a teacher. The skills developed in these courses are meant to encourage connection with the school community, and to prepare for future career endeavours.
Outreach is committed to a holistic approach to supporting the entire student; academically, emotionally, recreationally, and spiritually. With this course, students will be introduced to general definitions, implications and misunderstandings about mental health. This is a course designed to give students an opportunity to become aware of mental health concepts and how mental health is part of our overall health. The course will be instructed by therapists, counsellors, and a teacher advisor.
