About

Freedom to Excel

Outreach High School is an alternative education site that provides high school courses in an informal, supportive and flexible learning environment. We can accommodate students who require flexible hours. Many of our students have part-time or full-time jobs and are encouraged to seek employment relating to their future occupation. Some students are also registered in courses at their local high school.

Please call 780.458.0839 to book an intake appointment with the principal or counsellor. If you are currently a student at Paul Kane or Bellerose, speak to your counsellor there for a referral.

How Does it Work?

  • With teacher assistance, students build their own program from Alberta Education-approved courses and set their own long and short-term goals in order to complete the requirements for a high school diploma.
  • Students do independent work, some self-directed and some teacher-directed, in a comfortable, friendly environment.
  • Courses, activities and learning packages are set up so students can successfully complete one module per week. For the 30-level courses, students can complete one module every two weeks.
  • The program can accommodate students who require flexible hours and individualized programs.
  • High school credits are awarded upon course completion.
